Oh, another one who has latched on to the gospel of thomas which is not real but a false gospel which is being passed of as written by the apostle Thomas. But it was not. I was responding to a post that made the charge the the Bible did not mention anything in the future such as computers. That's the reason for my post.

2Mars$:" I thought this was a thread on evolution ".

It is.

I would like to keep this way.

The issue of God came up only tangentially from the viewpoint that I am trying to find how do you interpret from an evolutionary viewpoint man's thoughts and
actions in terms of the fact that we all have a political, moral? if you will? ( I am not sure what that means ) and relational life , i.e. as we relate to others.

In other words we have a mental life that is not visibly present in animals right now.

I am trying to find out
a) how did it develop?
b) is morality related to genes?
c) does it follow the laws of natural selection?
d) if so what are the se laws? So far from what I know it is survival of the fittest That means that the poor the crippled the old the maimed the less bright get taken
out.
Is our mental or spiritual life following the same laws?
e) if so, were Hitler and Stalin just acting out their natural part in evolution?

These issues of course are important for Kansas.
After all Hitler and Stalin are barely above a Chimp, they are only recently out in the evolutionary chain.
The Chimps have no known spiritual life that we can compare it to.

So, what are the best spiritual characteristics for the new Homo Sapiens? Use the same old, might makes might? Or, something else,

Dawkins can't skirt this debate and crawl under an evolutionary log,

I thought this was a thread for Evolution? Seems to be de-evolving in to the narrow morass of "Christian biblical scholarship", of which i've no interest
what-so-ever... unless it's weighed in equally with the evolultion of other enlightened inspired writings of man.. That would be a fair, objective conversation
worth having, but alas we tread down that worn out negative road again of : There is no God but Jehova! Or "there is no God but Allah"....think Buddah &
the Buddhist were very saavy not elevating their beloved to the cult status of "KIng of Kings","The Last Prophet of God",or "Son Of God", etc. Poor Jesus
was trying to just get peoples's eyes opened to the inhumanity of man to his fellow man, not get elected "emperor of heaven."

In the fifth gospel according to St Thomas found in the 3rd(or 6th cebtury, is the only one that has Jesus as saying the Kingdom of heaven is here at hand,
if you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear...guess he believed in Evolution!

Let the believer's believe, but evolution is real. Even Christians will evolve. I've just got to meet a real one first! LOL!

:-)
