MICROSOFT CAUGHT PLAYING DIRTY -- AGAIN (Sorry folks...real slow day at work :)) The Associated Press reports Microsoft paid for newspaper ads in which experts sided with the software company during its antitrust trial. Placed by the Independent Institute last June in The New York Times and The Washington Post, the full-page ads were in the form of a letter signed by 240 academic experts saying antitrust prosecution was bad for consumers. The institute claims it did nothing wrong, although at least one of the experts on the letter said he would not have participated had he known the truth. We can't figure out if Microsoft is so arrogant that it thinks it is above the rules, or so stupid it doesn't realize how much PR damage it is causing. The company was already caught paying for research "proving" its claims, falsifying video evidence and "forgetting" key details (in the Gates videotaped testimony). I don't know....just when do we begin to question this company's ethics or do we even care about ethics anymore? Honestly, if this were Novell, I'd have the same feeling I do right now about Microsoft - utter disgust.
