Tero: You must be a star in debating. I used to do that once, when a student. Now, I am interested in trying to find out actual info which is relevant to investing. Not twist and turn to make a point. True - this is absurd. Out. Chaz

Common folks, anyone really think being able to get off a plane from Europe and use your phone in the U.S. [or vice versa] is going to change standards??? That's like 2 wars ago, this thing is moving way to fast for that IMO, there are much more important variables [online browsing?] at work. Converging standards, if they happen will be driven by the economics of the providers... not demand from a few thousand travelers that want to bring their cell phone overseas!

Hell, you can't bring any other appliance from Europe [or vice versa] do to the electrical standards, that never forced a change.

DAK

Just a reminder, here is your original statement:

"Japan and Korea being outside the global GSM coverage will have very little impact on international roaming. They aren't on anybody's list of top travel destinations. "

Which you have since twisted to something else.

As I've said before folks: Tero is a chemist with an opinion, nothing more.
