kash,

1) I agree in principle and in spirit with your last post. Nice.

2) Didn't you say "BIG FAT ZERO" to a well known platform vs. OEM's?

Well...

biz.yahoo.com

Is this close enough not be be a zero? HP does promise systems to be available next month. And announcing a week "early"?...

RE <<<I doubt if Intel is doing anything insidious here.>>>

I agree and disagree....I think on paper there is nothing insidious....intc has too many attorneys to make that mistake. However what's "the understanding" between intc and gtw, I don't know. I think Briefing.com's comments are a warning to intc that it is being watched.

I don't know what intc has done in the past to warrant current public perception....certainly there is no love lost for the company. For all our joking on this thread re chipzilla, apparently the nickname is apt. But this 'leak' re intc's and gtw's deal is intended to hurt intc more than AMD.

And do I think any understanding between intc and gtw (if it does exist) will hold. I doubt it.

RE <<<As PB has been stating Intel will have large volumes of its high speed grade. If they ship 5M Coppermines in Q4 that enables 500K at the 733 speed grade if we assume 10% bin splits.>>>

One last comment re your response. When has PB become a resource link...nothing against PB, but he has a very biased view of things, understandably. I will believe things when they actually happen and and not when I am told by an intc employee or an intc junkie. I take that same position with AMD as well. This hearsay stuff is just that, stuff.

And I feel no pain over Gateway. If AMD performs, gtw will be back with their hand out. Rest assured on that one.
