No, what set me off was truedogs original statement that Lorrie and I were feminists and therefore "not ladies". Now, I don't care much about truedog and am not reacting on a personal level to his comments. However, this is a sentiment you see echoed from Rush Limbaugh and others, and I think its about time we trash those arcane views, not for myself so much but for the next generation of women entering the workforce, etc.

Lady has evolved into a bit of an insult because its an old term which was used at one time to describe the ideal of, say, a society woman. It does not connote power, that is the problem. So indeed, successful women are likely "not ladies".
