very DEEP stuff.
I knew I should have put a smiley face on that post! A bumper sticker I have seen states Life's a bitch, and then you die. Or why should we expect meaning in life.

If I think about it a minute then I realize the that life is after all the process of information and complexity swimming upstream against the tide of entropy. So I would guess that the meaning is the gathering, sifting, and passing on of information.

Jon,
Why is people so afraid of sharing his or her own life experience?
Can we be more open and be more transparent?

Well, why don't you start? Tell us about your life experiences and what you have found to be the meaning. The fact is, we are all probably searching in some way or another and your experiences and views are just as valid as anybody else's.

Further, I am not afraid, I explained why I would not share the experiences that you asked of me. What I said was not a way to avoid letting people see who I am. I have been pretty open with how I live my life. The specific details don't really matter. If you watch the movie that I suggested, you will understand that what I said was not just an excuse.

A bit off topic.....

There was something about the post to which I'm responding which reminded me of a thread which I wish would have been started quite awhile back when all the "Story" threads were making their way onto the Coffee Shop list:

<<Why is people so afraid of sharing his or her own life experience?
Can we be more open and be more transparent?>>

I personally would have enjoyed reading and contributed quite a bit to a thread which would have been devoted entirely to the subject of personal experiences. Those memories covering the spectrum of human experience which take years to forget by those contributing them.

As it is, such stories are scattered here and there as a word or phrase invokes an off topic post on a totally unrelated subject thread, or they're those once in a blue moon posts on general topic threads which seem to concentrate more on general social and or political issues.

Maybe one of these days I'll get lucky, although the thread will undoubtedly pass quickly into oblivion from the fear of sniping drive by posters.
