on JDSU ability to respond.. their stock has appreciated to the point that they can sustain their leadership position by acquiring smaller firms with niche products or time leads or talent or locked customers or superior supply lines, whatever their advantage that is the Cisco model of behavior, eh? I seem to recall Uniphase purchased JDS Fitel.. what a great move.. that was more a marriage of equals complementing each other.. with stock as purchasing currency, now the combined JDS Uniphase can go out and gobble up a nice star.. most threats are likely to be much smaller in size thanks for you guys and the great posts / Jim Willie
