NW: Mr. K (who knows EVERYTHING about dishes) says that trees in the way can indeed be problematic, but installing a dish is verrry easy and, that in light of your experience with the dish guys, you should try to do it yourself before you return the dish. There should be installation instructions - maybe even a video. The satellite is in the southwestern sky approximately 60 degrees above the horizon. If you can't get a "read" (indicator light on the dish) from your house, try mounting it on a tree. Are the trees that are supposedly blocking you, your trees? You can go almost 200 feet from your house with a cable and still be OK.

NW,

A two story house on the top of a mountain, huh? Those must be soooooooommme kind of trees. Were they transplanted from the Sequoia National Forest?

>>Also would help if I had English speaking people to deal with.

In Houston, you learn to deal with that. The only trouble is, any time they don't like what you are trying to tell them, it is NO COMPRENDO all over the place.

>>I think they didn't want to climb up on the roof in the rain after being three hours late.

That is probably true. Maybe you should consider getting a second opinion from their supervisor.

Looks like TLAB is not only going to be a long-term hold, I may have to roll it over into my IRA. <gggg> (Just kidding, of course.)
