YxY, I posed your question directly to Howard at Ensign Software and this is what he said...

Some studies, such as Parabolic Stop, have a natural interpretation for being in the market at all times and reversing position when the stop is penetrated. For these, we show some back testing trade results as part of the information for the study in the study panel on the left side of the chart.

Other studies, such as moving averages or Stochastics can be used with the Alert object to set up a trading system. If the trading logic is utilized on the Alert object form, then trades are made and can be viewed with the menu Chart | Trade Detail.

Finally, one can implement proprietary and more complex trading logic in the ESPL programming language. Again, the trade detail can be viewed with the menu Chart | Trade Detail. So, it is all there in one form or another.

Sincerely,
Howard Arrington

I hope this helps. I have not spent any time using the built in programming language so I wanted to get a response directly from Howard for you. Howard is one of the main programming engineers and is very accessible. In fact, on their listserve email somebody made a good suggestion on Monday and I seconded the motion on Tuesday...tonight there is a beta version on the site with that requested feature. These guys are trying hard to become a top contender in Technical Analysis Software...I think they are on their way. And for $30 a month, you can't beat it.
