hi tang

no i'm just trying to give a conservative guideline to cmgi's current inherent value. the report from prudential securities also gives numbers for the years 2000 and 2001 that are up to DOUBLE the assumed levels!

the numbers i used are actually to low. it's the lowest assumption for all CMGI holdings! one can take

there are different approaches to value CMGI. this is the traditional one. BUT: CMGI is developing into an operating internet company. and therefore it should be valued by measurements that reflect this shift. that means price to sales and price to earnings become more important.

by a comparable P/S valuation, CMGI could trade easily in a range from 120 to 150. See my post:

there may be confusion about how to value CMGI in these days but you'll see how the dust clears when CMGI's gonna develop its operating internet business further and further. They should at least achieve 500 mio. $ in operating revenue for calender year 2000. That should result in a valuation above 15 billion $ (>130$ per share).

I'm a long term bull on CMGI and think it is very - in deed VERY - undervalued at these levels. i think it's just taking a breather.

just one hint on my previous analysis. icast is valued at about 600 mio in there. altavista valued at below 2 billion dollars in the analysis. but icast will be worth far in excess of 1 billion and altavista at above 3 billion dollars. so you already get a value of approx 10 billion for cmgi.

to much to write here on this topic. maybe i'll get back on it in the next days and try to show this in different manners.

don't worry 'bout CMGI at these levels. as the dust clears CMGi will get out of it in a very strong way.

hope this could help in the first case.

regards
sunny

p.s. for more personal information i just added LEAPS (in germany there are no short term warrants on stocks available like in the states) on CMGI to my portfolio. They are in the red after today but i'm not worried at all. not at all. they will pay out...
