David,
The letter is about technology and I do little research on the stocks other than a look at the chart to identify the trend if I can. If I can't I don't buy the stock. I am not good at research, if I was I wouldn't need Gilder or anyone else but I prefer to buy the research and do the trading which I am good at. The percent returns shown in the mailer are accurate.

David,

Perhaps the confusion lies between Gilder/Forbes marketing and Gilder himself. The Gilder letter focuses on his read on the future of the "telecosm". I have been a subscriber since Spring and have made a substantial chunk of change on stocks I purchased after reading about their prospects in the letter. However, the real value of the letter is Gilder's "window" on the future. I would suggest to you that he is a futurist in a field where the companies he writes about have exciting prospects.

Since becoming a subscriber, remember only a few months, only 8 of the 30 companies currently in his universe are down in price.

If you are looking for a "buy this, sell this and double your money by Friday" letter perhaps you should look elsewhere.

Way to go GG!

My first trade (assuming I sell now or at a higher price) will pay for my $295 subscription many, many times over (I bought GBLX at 26, and have made no other purchases).

However, I must say, almost everything else is at an extremely high valuation. I am now looking at WCOM (the only good value I see) and GSTRF and LOR (whose values I can't determine based on earnings or assets, but the stocks are down nicely).

On the downside, I must criticize GG's direct mailing campaign. I could write a much better piece and not lead potential customers to think GTR is a stock letter. What I received was quite misleading, even for an experienced investor.
