TD^^^^, I understand what you're saying about making sure you really owe something before paying it. As you know, Bud is a sole proprietor and since I do his accounting work, you'd better believe I find every bit of information I can to make sure he's not paying one cent more than he's legally required to. After all, I do have a personal interest in saving him as much as possible. He says, "If there's a nickel to be saved, my wife will find it".

And I agree 100% with your old, crusty CPA. Although I would phrase it differently.

I think the comment I made in that post was to a person who said that churches and other Christian organizations try to get out of paying taxes. My point was that even if some "People or organizations" do this, it wasn't because Jesus told them it was OK.

But, you make a good point. Jesus was warning us to be very careful in the matter of paying taxes. In just about every area of life, we can find the answers we need in the Bible.
