Jesus was warning us to be very careful in the matter of paying taxes.
Should the church pay taxes they owe even though there is no legal obligation? I mean taxes for the road to the church, the police who try to protect the members, the fire department that would probably come to extinguish a blaze. Do you think it is their moral obligation to pay these taxes even if the collector is not going to knock on their door?

Colleen, that has been my point on a number of posts. All the Christian really needs is the Bible to tell him/her what is right according to Christ. No one needs some other human to interpret for them, however, if they feel the need of the fellowship of a congregation, that is,of course, their choice.^ ^ ^TD
