TD^^^^, I agree, all we need is the Bible to tell us what is right according to Christ. And I'm very leary of big denominational churches. The first time a pastor tells me who or what to vote for I'm out the door. That's not what I go to church for.

But I do go to a small neighborhood church. maybe 100 people. In my case, I think being so far away from much of my family, I felt the need to be part of a church family. I went to quite a few before I found the right one for me. Everybody knows each other very well. A lot of my lady friends and myself will get together to have lunch, go shopping, etc. besides church activities. I feel very comfortable in my little church family. And our pastor, who is also a personal friend, talks about the teachings of the Lord.

I would say that knowing me as well as you do, about 3/4 of the church members, have the same attitude and ideas that I do.
