<<"To strive to be better Tomorrow than I was yesterday, this is the meaning of Today." >>

Were starting to get real close here. I have a tale of Leonard Skutnik, (I think that's spelled right). Also, I'm running this off the top of my head, so I'm a little short on details and actual time/place but you'll get my point. Anyhow, I think it was the winter of 1978, and an airplane went off the end of the runway in, I think, Wash, D.C. There was the usual carnage that accompanies plane wrecks, but there was also a passer-by, Leonard Skutnik, who was in the area and jumped into the freezing river, and pulled like 14 people out and saved their lives.

Now, I don't know anything more about Mr. Skutnik, up to that point, no matter whether he was happy or fulfilled in his life, no matter how pointless he thought his life was, at that point in time, he was there, he knew how to swim, he was able to withstand the elements, and he succeded at an extreme level.

Who can doubt, that at that point he found new meaning for his life? I think the lesson here is that we must live our lives in preparation, for what we don't know, but learning new things, building skills, being fully aware, are things that give us the opportunity to add meaning to our lives and the lives of others. Being ready to make a difference, everyday, gives life meaning. Even if we don't know yet what that meaning is.

>>> First, you have to buy the precept that life is nothing more
than a series of today's allllll strung together out of which becomes a "strand of pearls" known as your life<<<

I got this part.

>>>"To strive to be better Tomorrow than I was yesterday, this is the meaning of Today."<<<

I think this is too vague statement.
Would you share HOW you strive to be better?
What are you doing today to make tomorrow better?

Come on people, give me some examples.
