Mike,

Did anyone talk about financial system credit levels and leverage (FNMA, FHLMC, etc...)?

I'm still on the fence about how significant this is and I'd like to hear both sides of the story.

Just a note about Lindsey, I believe he's involved with the Bush campaign. So he IS a politician and also a possible successor of AG.

Mike, it is the fate of all bubbles to be fretted over by a minority while they are in full swing. w/regards to that humans will never change...

consider that the economic backdrop of all historic bubbles has been almost exactly the same in each case, so it is well known how they come into being and how they eventually end. nevertheless, no-one seems to be prepared to stop them when they begin to get out of hand. the argument about 'millions of investors' having it right or wrong is totally spurious. if that were the yardstick by which to judge whether we're in a bubble or not, bubbles would be impossible...and still they have clearly formed in the past.

the cavalier attitude of the Fed and the administration toward the bubble is indeed unbelievable and highly deplorable. i'm with you on the solution: better pop it now than later.

regards,

hb
