Lastly, we got the Fed Beige Book today and it basically said the following: Retail sales exceeded expectations in many cases, there were labor shortages, all districts reported overall strength and there were price pressures at the wholesale level. It also said that consumer prices were mostly calm, manufacturing activity was picking up in most districts and there were some signs housing was slowing. The headline was, "The Beige Book Says Few Districts Report Accelerating Wages," but the guts of it were what I reported.
