Side by Side

Only his picture and his voice were known to her. As she drove into the resort, a car passed by, she knew in an instant it was him. Heart racing, hastily she registered. The clerk had a knowing look, it must have been the request for side by side suites.

A PRODIGIOUS WALLOP

The bases weren't loaded. The pitcher was.
He threw the first pitch, but tottered and fell on the mound.
The crowd gasped. The batter taking advantage as the ball bounced to the plate took his bat and bunted it towards the fallen pitcher. The ball was trapped under the sotted pitcher.
The infielders ran to the pitcher, along with the catcher, but failed to signal "time out." In the meantime the runner circled the bases for a homerun.

The driver of the car slowed up. A muscular and handsome dude. He paused beside her, and cracked his window open and said "Hi".
Then he sped away.
