Pat,

Potential trouble in MooooLand according to Merrill:

Gateway shares fall on earnings fears

By Janet Haney, CBS MarketWatch
Last Update: 12:41 PM ET Sep 23, 1999
SAN DIEGO (CBS.MW) -- Gateway shares dropped over 4 percent after Merrill Lynch cast a cautious tone over the company's upcoming quarters.

First Vice President Steve Fortuna and industry analyst Kumar Cidambi said although the PC maker's fourth quarter is generally robust, they feel Gateway could experience some pricing and margin pressure.

"Going forward, we believe it could be difficult for Gateway to maintain its stride on all fronts, i.e. PC unit growth . . . and after-market sales growth," Fortuna and Cidambi wrote in a research note.
