Codawg, Thanks for the options article. It will make for interesting trading just a couple of weeks before October expiration. I have started trading options a lot simply because of the drop in spreads. It makes to even daytrade these sometimes--even the ones a few months into the future. In the old days one could not do that.

I was looking for that article because I remember reading about a huge microsoft put play, a 10K contract job. Now listen for a second, when you see blocks of contracts cross like that it is generally very smart money. Generally when options trade in size like that it is somebody who is going to buy or dump many shares and knows they are going to move the market, and want some options juice for their efforts. Who has the firepower in number of shares to actually move a monster stock like MSoft? Answer: Nobody but Bill Gates and maybe Vanguard index 500 fund.

Who knew that soft was gonna fall? Answer: Steve Ballmer, and I'd bet dollars to donuts he was behind the put play
