Rose, Well I have other income streams so it is not that bad to have some time on my hands on occasion.
I also but and sell gold scrap at the printed board level. Current Toronto price is around 50 cents per pound, old or new boards. I like to get the HP plated boards or the old GE boards, with the gold plated on all surfaces. Mil spec parts are good too. Right now I am just accumulating as the economics do not favor boards very much now. You get only $1.25 a pound for boards when refined and it used to be $4-5.
I suspect you recycle small bits of gold chain etc, nuggets etc that can be bought for that 20-35 per ounce. In Timmins there are always hghgraders with small nuggets to sell in the local bars and they typically get about $100 per ounce for hammered out stuff. Good samples in quartz are worth a lot more. The Timmins police used to have a highgrade squad but it is gone now as most mines are closed and the thefts now is of copper and aluminum wire that powers the place.
Dirty rats. We have a number of high grade surface pockets on the Davidson and every summer they got dig deeper. The "lucy" vein was over 100 ounces per ton, a thin plating of gold in a narrow vein.
GPGI?, I do not follow. Most of those scams died in the desert with low gold prices.
