You ask so does it mean that Free ISP stuff around AOL is dead ?
Probably, for the time being. No big-time free ISP out there. Broadband, in spite of Bob Pittman's comments to the contrary, is a big issue for AOL.
Whether it's time to buy more AOL, I leave to your judgment. I can't decide what anyone else should do with his/her/its money.
Best,
--Steve

Yes, I think so. Microsoft realized that free ISP is not the way to compete with AOL in long term but to compete on its own expense. The $2 monthly rate increase and $400 rebate from Microsoft acknowledge AOL's market strategy. Wall Street likes it. Look at the today's (09/24/) volume, there are lots of institutional accumulation. It is up over $5 even in the down market.
