I, too, am an attorney. I'd respond to you privately, but don't know how to activate that on SI. This bull run has created a vast list of arrogant tech executives. They made their billions and have completely forgotten that their is a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders of the company. There is no doubt in my mind that Mr. B's comments violated securities laws as well as other more general common laws. Will he be punished? Probably not. Not internally or externally. In fact, Mr. Gates is probably very supportive and mr. Greenspan is probably sleeping much better tonight.<

this is so naive i can't believe i'm reading it....you people have lost the forest for the trees...just another excuse to bullshit the little guy and take his money.....play the game with bubble vision and the "analysts" about the great value of tech...DOW 36,000!!no less...
\more damage is being done daily as the overheated market streches the rubber band tighter....when/if the baby boomer realize they have been ripped off of their retirement by the likes of ......there will be hell to pay..anarchy.....some fiduciary duty to keep status quo....!!!!you would be good in the cigarette industry....!!!!
they have lots of "fiduciary" minded attorneys

Did you have a particular law in mind? Perhaps the Freedom of Information Act? Or the Mann Act? Or Glass-Stegal?

Was it the same law that Warren Buffett violated when he said, in 1997, regarding the price of Berkshire Hathaway, "Neither myself nor Charley (Munger) would buy this stock at these prices"

I told you not to buy those OCT 200's for $20 a contract, I sent you a private email-- you do know how to recieve private email?...Its the big button next to the Freddy Flintstone Icon on your GameBoy device. :)

Dear Jmac: Now two attorneys on this thread have said Mr. B's comments were "actionable". Well, if they are you can expect massive class action suits filed today given the greediness of those types of attorneys. So we will see. Personally, while I am nearly fully invested, I too feel the tech market is somewhat overvalued but I also feel that quality Tech stocks like INTC, SUNW, EMC and the other market leaders will earn their way out of this. The bottom line of it all is the World is a big place and technology IS the future for all of us. We here in USA may think we have reached the technological plateau but we make up maybe 6% of the worlds population. I think the Tech revolution overall is still in its INFANCY. JDN
ps: I am more concerned with the news today about INTC and RAMBUS motherboard problem, anyone wish to comment on that?
