With all due respect Fun-man, I'm losing respect.

As usual (in addition to your whining way of putting things and twisting the facts to suite your conclusions) you have left many points out which would have made sense out of the moves that Mr. Fun made in regard to CSCO. What I saw was:

1. Fun made a comment that a lot of MM's that he was talking to were worried about CSCO making estimates.

2. CSCO's stock got pounded into the mid-50's.

3. Mr. Fun decided that the qtr was going to be made and so went "overweight" on CSCO at a good price.

4. He probably made a ton of money in a short space.

None of this is inconsistent with his position of favoring LU over CSCO as an investment at this point. He has always said that the telecommunications industry is big enough to hold 3 or 4 big players. I believe that his reasons for holding more LU have to do with existing relationships and equipment with the powers that be in telecom infrastructure and also with the valuations. This is also why I hold more LU than CSCO.

I am worried that your tiresome, self-serving comments are going to discourage Mr. Fun from posting. I consider him the highlight of this board and maybe of the entire site.

Clay

BTW: My apologies to Mr. Fun if I have misstated any of the facts or his motivations here. I don't have time to go through history in detail.

I would like to respond one of your points. Lucent has the 2000 patents through their own research and development. This is a stronger statement than a company not being encumbered by potential patent infringements. I would contest your point that CSCO and LU are on equal footing based on legal agreements between the two.

My comment in no way reflects on the ability of the two companies to actually deliver product based on these patents.
