re: "I believe that inTEL does thEIR assembly of thEIR branded MoBos in Ireland (but the chip-sets probably come from Taiwan.)"

Given a perfectly hostile and, at best, substantially correct response, this claim deserves some small amount of illumination. intEL does do, to my current state of knowledge, assembly of many of their MoBos in Ireland. Many of the best chip sets for all of their MoBos are produced by intEL domestically (intEL, by all accounts has a great deal of excess fab capacity [and apparently increasing domestically]) and many of these are sent overseas to overseas MoBo producers which obviously greatly endears intEL to the various merchant chip set maker industry...(the enemy of my enemy....etc.)

However, some of the chip sets for intEL purpose MoBos are, I believe produced by remaining chip set makers in Taiwan. One might suspect that, since there is already a shortage, the earthquake may exacerbate the current shortage situation.

Scant consolation but the intEL to AMD volume is now approx. 42:1
