It's the carrot-and-stick thing that bugs me. I don't care how offensive he is, as long as he sticks to his guns. I don't like him offering me a carrot if I do what he wants and a stick if I don't. All I see is the stick.

Edwarda, that sounds v. "probational." Which posters are part of the shadowy and conspiratorial "We Commission?" If I did smilies, I "might" have added one there. Despite your generous "break-giving" (not sarcastic), I confess no urge to research or understand thread history. Those memories are for your delight or dismay alone (including other old "feelie" vets, of course). This thread is eerily mindful of the social dynamic found in a small town. The newbie could memorize every word in 30 years of back issues of the local rag -- learn who scored the winning TD in the 64 homecoming game and got the first bare skin feel off Peggy Sue. Could come to know enough to write a an award winning history of the town. Would not mean crap to the natives. One of those "you had to be there" things. Deeply personal PM re. BayouBlue to follow.
