Zeev:
<<RMBS was never going to go into the low end until all the cream was scooped from the high end, and that could very well be 18 months or so after introduction of RMBS into the high end.>>
Camino is not high end at this time. It is as fast as BX based solutions. Carmel is 9 months away at best based upon what we know now. 9 months plus 18 months is 27 months. We are talking beginning of 2002 for RMBS in typical home computers.

Talk about your ultimate trading stock. You can expect these wild price moves for at least another two years. LOL

See you at 60.

Re: The current problems with signal integrity are not "intrinsic" ... When you go to 800 MHz

800MHZ data rate, but the frequency is only 400MHZ. Problem is, the now starting to ship alternative, DDR 266, is getting better throughput and lower latency while only having to run at 133MHZ. Everybody has been working with, and has confidence in, 133MHZ, while 400MHZ is something that is starting to sound more than a little scary. This is why there is going to be a reevaluation of the whole PC memory strategy, and Rambus may not make the cut this time. The window for this approach was wide open a year ago, half closed 6 months ago, and down to about an inch now.

Could still squeak through though, you never know. It'll have limited success, at least, if Intel continues to follow the "Rambus at any cost" strategy - which hasn't seemed logical for some time, so why expect them to change now?

Zeev, I wish I had such a "disadvantage" at any price of Rambus. <gg> I know there are some required SEC forms. I think they are Forms 3,4 and 13D that may apply to Stuart or his group at a certain % of ownership, however, none of which prevents sale or purchases of stock, only that any changes in % of ownership status are filed. I think that's how it works.

Zeev and John: Wonderful responses. Thank you. I understand a lot more now about the technical issues.
