Charles - <It has been discussed on this and other threads for a long time without ever being questioned. My understanding is that such a beast is Celeron replacement or Celeron II or whatever you want to call it - due for introduction in Q1 00 if my memory serves me right.>

You may be right. I said I may have overlooked it. I'm kind of weak on following Celeron developments, to tell you the truth.

Don't stress, there very well may be a CuMine 128 next year. I don't know for sure either way.

Has anyone seen this item on one of the bootleg roadmaps that are out there?

It would make sense that Intel would want to shrink the Celeron to .18u and add the SIMD features while still allowing low cost differentiation. I expect the original plan was to keep it on the 100MHz FSB and with the smaller L2 it would distinguish it from CuMine. Subject to change now in light of current events....

Charles,
found this mention of a CuMine 128
plaza18.mbn.or.jp

part of the timeline shows a CuMine 128 cache

and a picture of a non-existant Athlon system.

and pictures of 820 and 810 chipsets made in Korea.

and a whole lot more I bet; anyone translate?
