Actually, Joan, looking across the water at our Georgia, I think, I'm glad I live in South Carolina, not, "over there." Our Georgians, for the most part, would be lucky to find that one bunch of cilantro jammed down under all the parsley! BTW, feel free to post some hints on how to create "lobio." In spite of wonderful fresh seafood available, haute cuisine in these parts involves a great deal of second-rate barbeque sauce and deep frying. And, of course, grits. My most profound culinary regret since leaving California, is finding a decent avocado (now there's something that begs for a little cilantro). I'm probably spoiled -- my son's father-in-law has a couple of great avocado trees on his property. If I may continue this food riff for one more second..... And.....the number one bitch about American produce.....Where in the hell are the real tomatoes! If I can buy a gorgeous, delicious tomato in Bulgaria, why can't I get one at Ralph's? I already have a couple of small skirmishes on my fight card today. Our parish priest at the 8:30 this morning was WAY out of line -- did not care for his tone one bit. The minute I got home, I e-mailed a brilliant Jesuit theologian who generously tries to help me untangle various notions. Call me a trouble-maker, but, there's a chance Fr. Bobby will take Ayatollah Ed to task before the day is done. Also, I have a running friendly feud with the senior sports columnist at the Denver Post. He's minutes away from the sound of in-coming. Will you have e-mail when you're abroad? Hope you will advise before departure. I Promise to keep messages implicating you in various espionage schemes to an absolute minimum. Thanks for responding.
