Stephen: Good post. Those who say Air Canada has done a bad job of managing its affairs have it completely wrong. They have done exceptionally well in a cutthroat environment, in fact they have managed to make good money at a time when Canadian was slowly fading into the darkened skies of bankruptcy.

I can't believe what I'm hearing here on SI...I thought the name of the game was making money, not gripping about who's right and who's wrong...AC hasn't been an investors dream for the last 11 years either. Canadian...well lets face it, their management team is a joke. Here you are faced with an opportunity to make some serious cash...some of you said you are saving them for retirement and so on...well then, if this deal goes through, we have a good chance of making some more to add to our retirement fund...their are mergers and acquisitions all the time. people loose jobs and find new ones..its called life. no matter how much you want something to go your way, bitch'in about isn't going to do it for you..look at the facts and take your personal issue out of the equation. If you see a profit for the short term in this, then take it and move on. Or maybe, just maybe, the airco shares might just be worth something...after all Jerry Schwartz has a pretty good track record...
