chalu, I guess it just felt like an attack at the time. I admit that Japan wanted to control the Asian Pacific rim and knew that the US would not allow it, but needed a bit of a spur to actually attack. There has still been a lot said, by participants at the time, that messages come directly from the executive branch that put our forces in harms way. I can no longer call up the actual books or interviews that gave me this information but, I know I am not making it up.^ ^ ^TD

chalu, I have been gone all day and have not yet read any of the posts sent since last night but, I had to apologize to you for passing on what was a deliberate hoax or a monumental screw up by some copy writer. Sure enough, the reporter just read what was on the paper without realizing what it said. I was dubious about it and should never have forwarded it to you.^ ^ ^TD
