Sector, from what I can tell they are using different processors in parallel to handle distinct processes. One or more just to handle forwarding, others for building routing tables, still others for directores, etc. Juniper and others are now doing the same thing (without necessarily giving the impression they are using Crays).

They are justifying this claim by configuring a number of PowerPCs in parallel, which are tied together with their proprietary bus structure and software, and calling the resulting assembly a super computing router.
