Lucky888--You're right. I mean why waste valuable advertising dollars on people who aren't even going to hang around to watch the ads 'cause they gotta go to the bathroom. Brilliant! Don't those PR folks know this? I think we both know that JamesT is out to lunch with his analysis.

However, you brought up a good criticism, as follows:

>>>The thing NZRO really needs to work out is to generate enough revenue to cover their telecom costs. If they can't do that before the IPO money being spent, they are dead.<<<

Well, it's a given that more people right now are signing up for NetZero than any other Internet Service Provider on earth--(I qualify my remark by stating I don't know specifically what's happening in China or India right now as far as sign-ups).

So, this said, NZRO is going to have the target base audience. No question about this. So then what happens? Well, it's very simple. They become extremely valuable--one more time, extremely valuable--due to an enormous subscription base. It's at this point that companies not like Looksmart or Adsmart take notice, rather it's at this point that companies like Proctor & Gamble take notice.

Consequently, NZRO will do well on its own merit. Or it'll become an extremely attractive candidate for acquistion, unless it moves out on an acquisition trail itself. Either way, long-term, something good is likely to happen. With the likes of Goldman, Compaq, IdeaLabs, et. al. behind 'em, I doubt any form of bankruptcy is in the cards.

Meanwhile, short-term it's a dynamite investment. And what happens long-term depends on how you do your due diligence. That's all!

(Quote) from Chirag Amin,M.D.
It's estimated that Internet access costs IPs anywhere from $11-13
per subscriber per month. Add the cost of acquiring that subscriber,
and average per revenue user (APRU) needs to be at least $20 per
month to make any model viable, according to a recent Morgan Stanley
Dean Witter study. O.K. Somebody do the cash burn for NZRO .

Please put aside your insults. I may not know everything, but I know enough about this industry to know that you cannot compare it to TV ads. There are HUGE differences between the two, and the two business models are very much different. If you recognized my name around here, you would have known how to react. You don't hear much from me, but when you do, you know either the stock is going to go through the roof or it is has the faith of failure. When people hear from me, the stock immediately drops or jumps. Which again happened.
Since you don't want to spend much time on your comments, I'll keep mine short.
The viewers of TV ads canNOT make the ads disappear, and immediately continue watching the program without interruption. The viewers are not in control as much as the Internet viewers. If you block the TV ads, you will still have to wait, and basically won't see anything.
On the Internet, you can keep browsing the Web without having to wait or view any ads. Especially if you have one of those hacked tools which allow you to not see the ads at all.

Also Netzero is not the only ones trying this route. There are four others. Every other ISP can also do this, except they have other revenue streams, and Netzero doesn't.

Please don't respond to my comments, unless you have something really say.
