Hi Tenchusatsu; So the processor bus is occupied only 7% of the time? That sounds like an over-estimate for they typical computer, which spends more time waiting for disk drive or modem stuff than anything else.

Face it, the new chip set is providing very marginal improvements, and some decreases in performance. Particularly with game software, the tests are very relevant.

If the tests are so bad, how come the Athlon comes out so good in them?

Ten, <Business Winstone 99 causes the processor bus to be occupied only 7% of the time... What's so strange about that?>
There is nothing strange here. It means that
Intel engineers-at-large are so dumb that they
were trying to improve the part of system that
DOES NOT NEED IMPROVEMENT! Simple form
of Amdahl law, and they are so ignorant
of it.

Look at lovely applications, famous Photoshop,
Netshow, Dragon:
sharkyextreme.com

Instead of improvement, the best and newest
Intel i820 platform offers even DEGRADATION
OF SYSTEM PERFORMANCE! I guess in AMERICA
it is called "losers".

What a bunch of inept morons are ruling at
Intel! Simply pathetic idiots!

P.S. Please do not throw in my face those few
synthetic memory benchmark that shows how
great the RamBUST is. I could care less if
Intel's Idsat is so strong that each particular
gate can switch at 20 GHz but the user system
still crawls.

What's so strange about that? Overclocking a 440BX system not only overclocks memory, but also overclocks the chipset, the AGP controller, and every PCI device in the system. In other words, we can see what kind of performance a PC133 system can't achieve.

Are you claiming that a 33% overclocked AGP 2x bus is faster than a non-overclocked AGP 4x?

Actually, the performance of an overclocked BX should be very close to that of a 'real' 133 system, provided that 'fast' SDRAM-133 is used.
