So a social conservative is simply a member of the anti-abortion, pro religion crowd? Issues, not philosophies, define the term? What about the environment, animals, arts funding, education, campaign reform, health care, guns, tobacco, etc.? What positions do "social conservatives" have on these issues? Or does it matter? I would think that a certain philosophical theme would be present in how one thinks about issues. That is the case with libertarians, socialists and other political afiliations.
