PC,

I have NEVER had my stock called away prior to expiration due to covered call writing.

I have often had shares "put" to me prior to expiration due to naked put selling.

You would think that the same calculations and insights go into all these positions and that people would act accordingly no matter what side of the trade they are on, but experience does not seem to indicate that.

Wayne

Are your covered calls trading above intrinsic? If so there is no reason for the holder to exercise.

PC, the fall of Rambus was discussed here well before its most
recent run-up, the writing was on the wall and blaming Intel is
a pointless act of denial. If you wait for the wall to fall to get
out of the way, you'll get bumped on the head.

PC, They will not call your stock til perspiration because it is cheaper to play the options. They used to back in the good old days when traders were even more igonorant than they are today, which is hard to imagine.

Who didn't predict Intel having a chipset problem? Just everyone on this thread, with the exception of yourself, every computer rag in the world, and anyone paying attention, predicted it. It is not a hard prediction. Intel has never had any product out on time and ready for prime time, in its history. Earlie and Fleck had it in print earlier than most, but nobody with half a brain thought this dog could hunt.

But the not working stuff is just a copout. The simple fact is, Rambus chips are slower and they cost more. Not a great selling point.

I would rather be lucky than good. I am very blessed to be both. <g>

PC:

You write:

<What does a guy have to do to get his in the money covered calls assigned? Gee whiz. The master options trader who bought them from me is 10 points up on his purchase with 1.5 months to go and he doesn't want them. <g> This can only mean the market is expected to go higher along with the stock.>

Maybe he thinks he is trading "European options" ;-)
