I always thought that increasing authorized shares is somewhat of a short term negative. Honestly, I have no basis or facts to support this...except past observations. Anyway, I'm long CSCO, and either way CSCO will be fine...

Jorj, It also paves the way for more purchases. The cerent deal had t be a bit of a drain on the number of authorized shares saved for these deals. Brian

It's called dilution......
The company does put itself in a better position for future aquisitions...at the expense of current shareholders before the dilution occurred.
