Check out BGO, CAU, CBJ, GSR, and VGZ if you think that there is no movement today in the smaller gold mining stocks. These are the kind of names I had in mind when I suggested that some profits were being taken in the majors and reinvested in the juniors. Given that many of their brethren (DKT, GRERF, PGU, RYO, etc.) died during the long bear market, the health of the rest was questioned. A $50+ pop in the POG has breathed some life back into them.
