Kate Winslet, who was also in the New Zealand film "Heavenly Creatures", and the Helen Thompson "Sense and Sensibility".... It was abominable because it was hysterical, that is, overwrought.... Funniest "stupid movie".....hmmmm....This is off the top of my head, but perhaps "The Mask".... "The Apostle" is splendid, especially if one has an appreciation of great acting. Robert Duvall wrote, directed, and stars in it. Miranda Richardson is amazing.....

Kate Winslet was divine in Titanic. Funniest stupid movie I can think of is Dumb and Dumber. Very stupid and very funny.
