Personally, I think the entry of Cub Fan into the fray indicates that more downside is ahead, certainly for the general market......hopefully not for MTSN>

Not to bash Phil or toast Ian this is my opinion on the TA/Fundamental business:

Perhaps at time Ian may get a little caustic but I think in most cases he is allowed a little just anger and worth the aggravation. The bottom line is that comments and insights by one solid fundamentalist are of more value than any ten technical analyst views in the scheme of things, and that goes whatever your predilections. This is no disrespect for Phil's solid career and market experience but more a reflection of the habitual uncertainty, short term focus, and euphoric/doom swings of TA comments in general. Maybe it's because the TA's are more into options, or more into planning swift jumps from one winner to another, or more believers in the occult, I don't know. TA's invariably focus on and complain or exalt about the influence of short term events (switching to fundamental hats), which have no lasting effects on the companies or industries involved, and they tend to blame these events and personalities as the reason when things gone awry. In addition, when their stocks move down they usually pound the fundamentalist for more reasons why or to confirm their own "fundamental" reasons for the wrong turns. I never have understood why the TAs don't just stick to their charts. When the stock goes up there is no need to bother the fundamentalist, as the TA is happily and busily confirming his or her chart formations. Does the fundamentalist ever run to the TA to confirm the reality of what is happening?
