Thanks BullDozer. I saw " solution for developing fiber-optic communications systems at the core of today's large multi-service networks" and naturally thought it had something to do with WDM.

When you get a moment, could you illuminate <g> the diff between SONET and WDM?

B'dozer--while straight SONET and not WDM, help me out with this if you could. At the metro level, add-drop and switching may be from a silicon/electronic solution, not fiber, in today's environment. Could not CNXT's new chip provide better throughput for the silicon to silica (<g>) and silica to silicon drop-offs at the point of switch to local applications? I agree with you that all fiber switches will come later. Or am I confused?
