Robert,
Had a similar scenario with XCIT last year. Placed a market order for 1000 shares with Schwab. Got a good fill on the first 500 shares - lousy on the next 500. Schwab explained that they had an autoexecution limit of 500 shares, then any remaining go to the back of the line.

Living and learning everyday,
JF3

Robert, regarding 78928 If you are increasing your trades maybe an additional account might be helpful. If you had placed your 2k order at datek with a limit price a little higher than last trade it would have gone directly to the Island ecn and been executed quickly. If you had placed a 2k market order, the market maker may have worked the spread and may have executed the order in a little over a minute, in which case you would not have been charged a commission. Have found S.F.Drake on datek s.i. to have made some informative past postings regarding executions, raymund

Jan, does the execution of this trade look suspicious to you?

Sorry Robert, I sorta missed your post earlier but I am sure that you are pretty happy right now. I think that I put in my order of 500 shares at least a few minutes before you did and so I think that your first 500 shares were a real nice fill.
