Re: the restaurant analogy . . . Unfortunately, it appears that G* plans to open their restaurant on Oct. 11 with "fanfare and searchlights", but no food to sell. One of the recent brokerage reports (either Lehman or Unterberg) said that G* expects no revenues until December. This would suggest that for the first two months, the only users will be freeloading employees of the service providers. This may insure that the G* system will be free of bugs at the real start of service, but it will also leave G* open to more skepticism, and ridicule. The only question for investors at the present time is whether or not they can accept the risk of a steep slide in the stock price over the next 3 or 4 months in order to preserve their holding period for tax purposes. As for myself, I will sit this one out, and take another look after the first of the year.
