I caught a brief interview on TV last night with the CEO (?) of Ameritrade. One comment he made was that whether the future market is bull or bear, we (Ameritrade) will maintain our income because of the investors continuing to buy & sell. (not a quote, just approx).

Anyway, this applies for E-Trade too of course.

Why look a gift horse in the mouth? Are trading volumes increasing? Maybe people are starting to worry less about interest rate increases... Maybe they said something positive at the analysts conferences....
