Well, T just emphatically denied the AOL/athm rumor. Although I think AOL began to rise on the problems with the free ISPs, this rumor was certainly part of it. Athm will really take a beating I'm afraid...

If AOL gets hit hard enough all the nets might decline tomorrow.

Can someone explain if the costs for merchants participating
in Zshops is comparable to the costs for merchants on YHOO's sites ?
My understanding is that a merchant pays AMZN a monthly flat fee of $ 9.99 (for up to 3000 items) plus a fee of 2-5 % of
the sales price of the merchandise. In addition, the merchant pays AMZN $ .60 per item plus 4.75 % of the sales
price of the merchandise if the customer uses the 1 click
shopping option. Isn't this latter charge a fee typically
imposed on the merchant by the credit card company ? Doesn't the credit card company still impose that charge on
a merchant when someone purchases an item at Zshops using the 1 click shopping option ? How does AMZN justify charging the
incremental $ .60 per item plus 4.75 % ? Is AMZN price competitive with YHOO and others when these supplemental
charges are imposed on participating merchants ? Thanks to
everyone for your comments.
