Dear Bill:

Your words are very strong and full of wisdom. There was, in our local paper this morning a story about a U of Ga. football coach, one of the assistants , 58 yrs old, worked out all the time, non smoker , non drinker, after the last game with Central Fla. University, collapsed and died after the family evening meal, what a tragedy for that family.
But it shows that you must be ready to go a day at a time. From the story in the bible about the wealthy land owner whose barns and silos were filled and in pride the man relaxes and thinks to himself that he has need of nothing; Christ said , what a fool that man was for that very night he was to give an account for his soul before God.
There are sayings in the bible that everything under the sun is vanity, and only what is done for God will last or endure.
It is Gods universe to run , and run it He does. In Christ.gregor

Bill,

If I may, your first para reminded me of the verse from 2 Peter:

He has granted us everything pertaining to life and godliness ...

granted -- past tense, i.e. it is already ours
everything -- nothing left out

Money is not evil; it is the love of ...

Two masters? God forbid ... how can money, simply a medium of exchange only, reward anyone for trusting in it ... it is not alive or aware.

Amen?

I have seen what you say about retirement, time and time again. This opens up a whole 'nother topic which is deserving of a thread of its own. Working for God.

Regards,
tippet
