Dear Lynn: Funny how culture is. My wife is Filipina. In her country, especially when we were married 19 years ago, it was considered VERY LOW CLASS for a woman to drive herself. If they could afford a car, they could afford a driver. She was 28 when we married and didnt have the foggiest idea how to drive. She expected me to be her driver and since her work was the exact opposite direction of mine it was very inconvenient. I had to FORCE her to learn to drive herself. She didnt like it at that time, does now though. JDN
