If he's really interested in theater, isn't there a local drama activity group he could join? I used to be in something called "Teen Town Theater," run by the Baton Rouge Recreation and Parks Commission. The theater was in some kind of government building that also had meeting rooms. That was a lot of fun. I did makeup, but I also got parts, never the lead, but some nice supporting parts, like Mrs. Van Dampf in "The Diary of Anne Frank." My mother used to take me to the Baton Rouge Little Theater so I could help paint sets, too. And all that experience helped me get a nice part in the class plays, I was Morgan Le Fay in "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court," and Roxanne in "Cyrano de Bergerac." Funny how I can still remember. But I wasn't all that interested in theater, so didn't pursue it in college at all. Theater people are kind of strange, aren't they? Very self-centered. I mean people who do it as a profession.
