Assuming you are referring to the US government action, or inaction, it was not the right thing to do, but it was the only thing to do. Changing all things, healing all wounds, and preventing all massacres is not within our power.

It's been said that all wars are wrong, but some are necessary. I agree. The key questions: is it necessary, and is it possible?
