Where are all these people coming from? Many of them are coming from Mexico and Central America. You will recall that the US snatched California et al. from Mexico (1846 --$19,000,000). No one had the vaguest need for it, but it sort of filled out the map nicely. Millions more are going to come. The only way to stop it humanely is to turn Mexico and Central America into economic attractions so folks will stay at home. Too bad its impossible. Many of the smart Hispanics have already fled. The governments are incompetent and corrupt. Government (fortunately) lacks the guts to exclude aliens. Anyone who wishes can go to the border and see people running across almost every day. No one shoots them. And those who are caught by mistake try and try again. We need to face the facts. Hispanics will make up most of the growth of the US in the next century (whites and blacks do not even replace themselves.) We need to provide education and opportunity to them so that they can grow rich and become successful, instead of treating them like criminals.
